About this object
View of Napier Hill taken from Fitzroy Road looking north east, possibly in the 1920s or 1930s.
A note on the back of the photograph identifies the house in the foreground as that owned by Francis Logan. Logan was an original partner in the legal firm Sainsbury Logan & Williams, founded in 1875.
The Marist Brothers' School on the corner of Shakespeare Road and France Road is visible in the bottom left hand corner of the image. Designed by Walter P Finch, this building was officially opened in 1908 to replace the original school building which had been partly destroyed by fire.
Photographer, unknown.
