The photograph has been taken from Tennyson Street looking towards the front façade of the house. The two storey building is of timber construction with a shingle roof. A picket fence runs across the front of the property. A sign is hung on the front of the gate.
The photograph was possibly taken in the 1870s or 1880s. At this time the house was occupied by Henry Charles Wilson, who ran his dental practice from the building.
A man and two children pose for the photograph on the front verandah. The man is possibly Henry Charles Wilson.
Napier Hill is visible in the background.
