About this object
The photograph shows new buildings in Emerson Street, taken looking towards Clive Square. The buildings were erected after the devastation caused by the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake.

The Marcie's building can be seen on the left, followed by the Emerson Building (Finch & Westerholm) and Clausens (Finch & Westerholm). The A B Hurst building is the fifth building along. Photographer, A B Hurst.
