An image of Lord and Lady Bledisloe at the New Napier Carnival. Held from 21 to 28 January 1933, the carnival celebrated the opening of Napier after the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake.
Governor General Lord Bledisloe and Lady Bledisloe, seen standing at the centre of the group, are at the head of a group of dignitaries or officials lined up under a grandstand or shop awning. Lady Bledisloe is wearing a flowing floral print dress, hat and gloves and is holding a parasol and bouquet of flowers. Lord Bledisloe is wearing a dress suit, and is holding his top hat.
