About this object
Four small photographs pasted together create a panorama of McLean Park on a sports day in the 1930s or 1940s. Several groups of children are spread over the park and occupied with various athletic activities. The photograph appears to have been taken from one grandstand looking across to the other grandstand. In the background left of the image several houses skirting the grounds are visible. The tops of the Norfolk Pines are also evident in this area. The photographer’s 1936 Austin 7 Truck with his sound system attached is in the centre of the field. The old entrance gates before the bank was enlarged can be seen.

Photographer, Alan Harris.
