About this object
View of a house, possibly taken in the 1920s or 1930s.
A note on the back of the photograph identifies the building as the Police Station residence at Onga Onga in Hawke's Bay.
The photograph has been taken from the road looking towards the main entrance to the house. The house is of timber construction with a corrugated iron roof.
A man and a woman pose for the photograph at the top of a small flight of stairs that lead up to the verandah. The woman holds a parasol. The couple are possibly Police Constable Walter Frederick Thomas Gustavel and his wife Beatrice.
Photographer, unknown.
