About this object
View of an interior, possibly the library or den, at the McLean family residence on Napier Terrace, Napier. A desk is located along one wall of the room. Other furnishings visible in the room include upholstered chairs and a two-tier occasional table.

The wall above the desk is hung with framed pictures. The pictures are all of Māori subjects, including a number of bust portraits. Taiaha, patu, tiki, toki kakauroa, and other Māori taonga are also displayed on the wall.

A door is visible on the left side of the room. Bookshelves are located immediately above the door.
