View of the Sitting Room at the McLean family residence on Napier Terrace, Napier.

The photograph has been taken from one end of the room looking towards a wall featuring an alcove. The central panel of the alcove has been fitted with a mirror. Windows are located on either side of the mirror. The alcove is occupied by an upholstered seat.

The walls of the surrounding room are papered. A scenic frieze runs around the top of the walls. Mirrored panels are located on the far wall. The photographer's camera can be seen in one of the mirrors that is located on the left side of the room. The room is amply furnished with chairs, tables and cabinets in various styles.
