About this object
An image of the Vulcan Foundry float in the New Napier Carnival Procession.
The New Napier Carnival, held from 21 to 28 January 1933, celebrated the opening of Napier after the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake. The float is constructed around a motor vehicle. The front of the float has a bent frame threaded with ribbons. On the back of the vehicle is a frame which appears to have foundry and ironwork equipment set up in the back on display.
The sign above the frame reads: Vulcan Foundry. The sign along the bottom reads: Engineers, Boiler Makers, Blacksmiths, Iron and Brass Founders. Support local industry. The street is unidentified.
