The photograph has been taken from the south east end of the gardens looking towards Cape Kidnappers, possibly around 1936.

The foreground of the image is dominated by a plot of colourful flowers. The edge of a flight of steps is visible on the extreme right of the photograph.

Cape Kidnappers is visible in the distance.
