An unidentified public gathering and celebration at the top of Emerson Street, Napier.
A large marquee is set up at the top of Emerson Street. Beyond the marquee Marine Parade is visible. The premises of Kirkcaldie and Stains are visible at the right of the image on the corner of Emerson and Hastings Street.
A large group including children and an Irish setter are milling around the marquee in the foreground of the image.
The photograph is dated between 1897 and 1917.
