A photograph depicting a group scene on the banks of the Tutaekuri River.

The photograph appears to have been taken during a regatta or carnival.
Men in striped boating tops are floating canoes. There are several canoes and groups of paddles further up the bank. Children are visible at the water edge and paddling in the river in the foreground of the image.

A generous group of spectators are visible along the riverbank and further up the bank under the trees.
