About this object
A studio portrait photograph of an unidentified woman with the initials A H G M, taken in March 1882.

The woman is standing turned to her right. She is wearing an elaborately ruched dress which is possibly a wedding dress. She wears a small corsage near the upper left of her neck.

The woman holds her hands clasped in front of her and her gaze does not meet the camera.

Ferns are visible at the left and right edges of the image.
