About this object
The photograph shows that the devastation caused to the Napier central business district by the 3 February Hawke's Bay earthquake has been cleaned up and new building begun.
Emerson Street runs across the page with Dalton Street running off it. The E & D building is on the left and across the road the Hotel Central is in the process of being built. Dalgety's can be seen along Dalton Street on the same side as the E & D building. Timber can be seen on the section in the foreground.
Photographer, A B Hurst, Napier.
