About this object
Postcard featuring a view of the Napier Working Men's Club, Emerson Street.

The photograph has been taken from Emerson Street looking towards the front façade of the building, possibly in 1905. The main entrance to the building is located at the centre of the façade. On the right side of the building is the entrance to the Working Men's Club Library.

Commercial premises are located on either side of the club. The premises to the left of the Club are possibly those of Henry John Holder, builder.

In front of the Club, a man and a woman can be seen standing along the footpath. A post-box is also visible along the street.

The postcard is addressed to Miss Hunt, 23 Pipitea Street, Wellington. No note has been written on the card. The postcard was sent from Napier on 23 February 1906.

Photographer, Muir & Moodie.
