Postcard featuring a view of the ornate Edwardian period fountain installed in Clive Square, Napier, in 1904 to commemorate the public service of William Robert Blythe.
The photograph has been taken from Clive Square looking towards the intersection of Dickens Street and Munroe Street, possibly between 1904 and 1918. Revolving gates are located on either side of the fountain. Two young boys pose for the photograph in front of the gate on the left.
Munroe Street is visible in the background. The street is lined on either side by tall trees. A horse drawn carriage can be seen along the street.
