The photograph has been taken from the roof of the Baths looking south towards Awatoto. The pool and the changing rooms are located in the foreground. Children can be seen playing in the pool. Others sit around the edges of the pool and up in the tiered seating.
Further along Marine Parade, the Veronica Sun Bay and the Sound Shell, designed by J T Watson and built in 1934 and 1935 respectively, are visible. Marine Parade is lined with tall Norfolk Island Pines.
The beach is visible on the left side of the image.
