About this object
View of the Money Order and Post Office Savings Bank on the corner of Hastings Street and Dickens Street, Napier, thought to have been taken in 1928. The photograph has been taken from an elevated position on the opposite side of Hastings Street looking west. The two storey building is in the process of being demolished to make way for a new Post Office building designed by Government Architect, J T Mair. Three people can be seen working on top of the building, which has been reduced to a single storey.

Dickens Street is located on the left side of the photograph.

A tram car can be seen at the intersection.
