About this object
View of the Money Order and Post Office Savings Bank, Napier, thought to have been taken in 1928. The two storey building is located on the corner of Hastings Street and Dickens Street. The photograph has been taken from an elevated position on the opposite side of Hastings Street looking west. A sign advertising the branches opening hours is located in the ground floor windows.

Dickens Street is visible on the left side of the photograph. The edge of the Caledonian Hotel is visible on the extreme left of the image. Other businesses visible along Dickens Street include Sargood, Son & Ewen Limited, a Bread Depot, and E V James Motors (garage). Tram lines are visible along the street.

Napier Hill is visible on the right side of the photograph.
