About this object
A photograph of Napier Post Office on Browning Street decorated for an imperial celebration.

The photograph was either taken for the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall in 1901 or the Coronation of King Edward VII in August 1902. The Napier Post Office is decorated with images of the King and Queen, foliage and flags of the British Empire.

Outside the post office two men are standing talking. A horse is eating from a bag on the footpath. The horse is attached to a buggy which appears to be a small carriage for hire.
