About this object
View of a simple timber dwelling taken on 29 December 1898. A note in the album in which the photograph has been mounted identifies the structure as: Out-station, Mangaharuru.

The house is located on the slope of a hill. The photograph has been taken from lower down the hill looking up at the house. The walls of the structure are clad in timber. The roof is of corrugated iron. A chimney is located along the left wall of the building. Two horses and a man are visible in the vicinity of the house.
