A postcard photograph of the New Zealand Railways exhibit in the inaugural Napier Mardi Gras, 1913.
The image depicts a miniature railway engine and carriage labelled NZR 2. The sign on the carriage reads: Napier to Gisborne. There is one child on the engine and two children in the windows of the carriage. The carriage appears to be in a field either before or after its participation in the Mardi Gras parade.
In the background are a small stand of trees, buildings and Napier Hill. The sign for the premises of Brown and Company is visible in the background above the carriage.
