Object detail

About this object
View of a river or stream near Tarawera, Hawke's Bay, taken in September 1896. The photograph has been taken from a hill above the waterway. The banks of the waterway are lined with trees. A hill rises steeply away from the river on the left side of the photograph. A small timber structure is located on the far bank of the river near the centre of the photograph. A note in the album in which the photograph has been mounted identifies this building as a bathhouse fed by a hot spring.

The waterway is possibly the Waipunga River.
