About this object
View of a whare taken on 21 January 1898. A note in the album in which the photograph is mounted states that the photograph represents the home of the Hurst Family at Ohinepango. Ohinepango possibly refers to the Ohinepango Stream in the Waikato. Three adults and a child pose for the photograph in front of the house. The walls of the house are constructed of roughly hewed timber slabs. The roof of the structure is covered with thatched raupo.

Photographer, Russell Duncan.
