A photograph depicting a procession associated with Shopping Day in Napier in the 1930s.

Napier Shopping Day and later Shopping Week was a feature of the August school holidays promoted by the Napier 30,000 Club. The photograph is taken from an elevated position looking down a central Napier street, possibly Emerson or Hastings Street. The street is filled with people, mostly children, walking towards the camera. There are several cars parked along the street, mostly on the left hand side of the image.
