About this object
View of the Caledonian Hotel, corner of Hastings Street and Dickens Street, thought to have been taken in April 1928. The photograph has been taken from an elevated position from the opposite side of Hastings Street. The proprietor of the hotel at the time that the photograph was taken was George Graham, whose name appears on a sign on the corner of the building.

In the foreground, a tram passes in front of the hotel.
