About this object
A photograph of the band rotunda and Masonic Hotel on Marine Parade, Napier.
They are decorated for the parade and ceremonies surrounding the Imperial Troop Visit to Napier in February 1901. The balconies of the Masonic Hotel are lined with spectators, many holding parasols. The rotunda is decorated with flags. A New Zealand flag is atop the rotunda or the County Council Chambers. A string of flags are also visible on a wire between the rotunda and the balcony of the Masonic Hotel.
In the distance people are visible walking past Herschell Street along Tennyson Street in the direction of Hastings Street.
