About this object
A photograph of a Pipe Band at McLean Park, Napier on the 6 November 1937.

From a group of photographs depicting inter-house teams and musical bands from Napier and Hastings competing at McLean Park on that date.
The image depicts a pipe band playing and walking in formation along the length of McLean Park. The Pipe Major holding a mace leads the group. He is followed by three rows of pipers. The Drum Major follows and one drummer, presumably the other drummers are just out of the frame.

A large stadium stand is visible across the field in the background of the image. The photograph appears to have been taken from a slightly higher elevation looking down on the scene.
