About this object
A photograph of a Brass Band at McLean Park, Napier on the 6 November 1937.

From a group of photographs depicting inter-house teams and musical bands from Napier and Hastings competing at McLean Park on that date.
The image depicts a small group of spectators standing on the edge of the field watching a brass band. The band are seated and standing in a semicircle in front of a conductor. The conductor is standing with his back to the camera on top of a small box.

A large stadium stand is visible across the field in the background of the image. The photograph appears to have been taken from a slightly higher elevation looking down on the scene.
