About this object
A photograph of Napier and Hastings musical bands at McLean Park, Napier on the 6 November 1937.

From a group of photographs depicting inter-house teams and bands competing at McLean Park on that date. The image depicts a small group of spectators standing on the edge of the field as a formally dressed group of young people with instruments walk past. The band appear to be either post or pre performance in a loose formation.

A large stadium stand is visible across the field in the background of the image. The photograph appears to have been taken from a slightly higher elevation looking down on the scene. A pram is visible at the bottom edge of the photograph.
