Napier Mardi Gras
See full details
The photograph appears to have been taken along Marine Parade. The horse drawn float is driven by a man in academic dress and mortarboard. A boy in similar dress stands at the side of the horse holding a sign that reads: The Spirit of the Mardi Gras.
The float is decorated with images of fruit, possibly a cornucopia. There is a crown on top of the decorated cart. A group of girls are seated on the float and are holding up goblets. The float behind is a car heavily decorated with flowers. Buildings are visible along the street and up on the hill in the distance.
