About this object
View of the Junction Hotel, Oamaru, taken from Wansbeck Street, possibly in the early 1880s. Built in 1879, the hotel is located at the intersection of Wansbeck, Severn, Towey Streets and Awamoa Road. The proprietor of the hotel at the time that the photograph was taken was John McKay, whose name appears on the lamp above the main entrance.
Towey Street is visible to the right of the hotel.
