View of North Dunedin looking towards the Botanical Gardens, possibly taken from Clyde Street in the 1880s.

The road that runs across the photograph in the foreground is Dundas Street. Woodside homestead, designed by Francis Petre and built in 1876, is located on the right side of the photograph on the corner of Dundas Street and Lovelock Avenue.

The Dunedin Botanical Gardens are visible behind the homestead.

The street that is visible on the extreme left of the image is possibly Leith Street.
