A photograph depicting a procession of men on horseback in Hastings Street, Napier.

The procession is possibly concerning the First World War. The White Ensign, the flag of the Royal Navy, is evident flying from the post on the corner in the foreground of the image. American flags line the street in the distance at the right of the image.

The photograph is labelled as a military procession however the men on horseback are not dressed in military uniform. The streets are lined with spectators including men, women and children. Spectators are visible on the roofs of the buildings along the street.
