About this object
A photograph of the Veronica Sunbay on Marine Parade in Napier. Built in 1934, the structure was given it's name in 1937 when the bell from the HMS Veronica was given to the city as a memento of the assistance that the ship's crew gave in the aftermath of the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake. The Skating Rink and the Marine Parade gardens are visible on the left side of the photograph.
