About this object
View of the Westshore Bridge, Ahuriri, taken from the Western Spit (Westshore) looking towards Napier Hill, possibly in August 1880. In the foreground a group of men pose for the photograph in front of the bridge that linked the Western Spit to Ahuriri. The ship, PS Manaia, is moored to the left of the bridge.

Napier Hill is visible in the distance. Battery Reserve is located on the far right side of the hill. Houses, possibly situated along Goldsmith Road, are visible on the side of the hill. The building situated at the top of the hill on the extreme left may be Napier Hospital.

Photographer, possibly F W Williams.
