About this object
A photograph of the foundations of the temporary St John's Cathedral. The photograph was taken after the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake, which destroyed the 1886 brick building that stood on this site. The temporary wooden building was completed in October 1932. The Waiapu Diocese Offices can be seen in the background on the left side of the photograph.
