About this object
Coloured postcard featuring a view of the Masonic Hotel and the South African War Memorial taken from Marine Parade looking towards Napier Hill in the early twentieth century.

In front of the hotel, part of the band rotunda that was donated to the Borough of Napier by Neal and Close in 1894 is visible. Behind the hotel the premises of the London Lancaster Fire Insurance Company are located on the corner of Herschell Street and Tennyson Street. Napier Hill is visible in the distance.

The back of the postcard features a message to Bob from Mary.
