About this object
View of the Provincial Hotel in 1931. Following the Hawke's Bay earthquake, a temporary bar was established along Clive Square East. An advertisement on the front of the building indicates that the hotel premises was also occupied by Mrs Robertson's Home Made Cake Shop.

To the right of the Hotel is Humphries' Cash Grocery, for which a temporary premises was built on the corner of Clive Square East and Emerson Street.

Three motor vehicles are parked in front of the hotel.

Napier Hill is visible in the distance.
