About this object
Photograph of the Masonic Hotel, Napier, possibly taken from the intersection of Marine Parade and Tennyson Street in the late 1860s or early 1870s. The proprietor of the hotel at the time that the photograph was taken was Horace Ford. The hotel building is two storeyed with a lean-to on either side. The photograph was taken prior to the addition of a wing at the rear of the site, which was made in 1875.

The photograph appears to have been created by photographing an existing photograph.

Photographer, possibly Charles Sorrell.
