About this object
View of the Hotel Central, corner of Dalton Street and Emerson Street, Napier. Designed by E A Williams, the Hotel Central was completed in 1932. The photograph has been taken from Dalton Street looking towards Emerson Street, possibly in 1933. The Napier Building (1933), designed by Finch & Westerholm, is visible behind the hotel. To the left of the hotel the CB Hansen Building (completed 1933) is in the process of being constructed.

Napier Hill is visible in the distance.
