Brief Description
Letter and envelope from P R Barry to Captain Rutherford regarding William Lee Rees.

a) Letter dated 15 May 1893 in which Barry defends Rees' accusations against The Honourable A J Cadman's speculation of land in the Hawke's Bay region. He refers to the memoranda that Rees put forward to Premier Ballance in regards to this issue. He also mentions that Sir George Grey will block all matters in Parliament until the issue is successfully resolved.

b) Envelope that reads: Captain Rutherford, Alexandra, Waikato. A two penny postage stamp is attached to the front of the envelope along with three Auckland stamps. There is one illegible stamp on the reverse.
