About this object
A photograph taken after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931. The photograph is noted as depicting a wall being demolished. The photograph appears to have been taken in central Napier in the vicinity of the Criterion Hotel. Located on the corner of Hastings and Emerson Streets, the hotel was severely damaged by the quake.
