About this object
View of Shakespeare Road, Napier, taken from the top of Fitzroy Road in the late 1880s or early 1890s. A building (possibly the Marist Brothers School) is visible in the left foreground. Bluff Hill is located on the left of the image. Homesteads and cottages are located around the hill.
On the right side of the photograph, a road is visible on the side of the hill. This may be Clyde Road. A note that accompanies the photograph suggests that some of the buildings along this road may be part of Napier Boys' High School.
Photographer, Burton Brothers.
Date unknown.
