The image depicts a ship in port and the haulage lines leading to the breakwater. On the haulage lines are carriages laden with various material. A horse, buggy and driver are visible in the foreground of the image travelling away from the camera. Glasgow wharf is visible in front of the waves breaking over the breakwater.
The postage mark on the back of the photograph is dated 29 December 1919.
