About this object
View of Ahuriri looking towards Napier Hill from the bridge, possibly taken in the late nineteenth century. Among the buildings that are visible along West Quay are a wool store owned by Williams and Kettle Limited (this building features signage reading Hawke’s Bay Wool Stores), a wool and produce warehouse owned by Dalgety and Company Limited, a second warehouse owned by Williams and Kettle Limited, and the premises of the Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Co-operative Association Limited. Several unidentified ships are moored at the wharf.
