About this object
A group portrait of members of the New Zealand branch of the British Medical Association and their wives who were present at the 1909 conference in Napier. The photograph was taken at the Mayor, J Vigor Brown's House .

Dr De Lisle, president of the medical association, is in the centre of the photograph wearing a hat. He stands to the left of the man in the centre holding a string of the verandah blind. His wife is in the row in front wearing a white hat and dress, slightly to his right.

To the right of Mrs De Lisle, wearing a white dress and tartan hat, is Mrs J Vigor Brown. Mrs J C Moore is seated between Mrs J Vigor Brown and the lady wearing a hat heavily embellished with flowers. The next woman to the right wearing a flowery hat is Mrs Edgar.

Dr Edgar stands third from the left in the back row of the photograph. Dr Leahy stands looking to the left of the photograph is a cap to the left of the centre window. Dr Irving is seated at the far right on a chair with his arms folded. Dr Henley is standing at the rear right.
