Lands for sale or lease to discharged soldiers, consisting of 15,174 acres. The lands will be open for selection in Napier on Wednesday October 11, 1916, noting that the land may be bought for cash or on deferred payments, or on a sixty six year lease with a right to renewal for a further 66 years.
The block consists of second class land known as Dolbel's Kaiwaka station and lies North of Napier some 15 to 32 miles between the Esk River on the West and the Waikoau Stream and Tongoio Settlement to the East, specifically around the Napier to Gisborne road - not yet formed, Mairoau Stream and the Ngamahanga Stream.
The Tutira block - leased by Guthrie Smith lies to the North, bordering the Waikoau Stream and land for sale. Henry Bodley has land to the West, neighbouring land for sale and J R Mackay. S Bennett & W C O'Reilly are neighbours with land bordering the blocks to the South, next to the Tongoio Settlement. James Bell is noted as being the occupier of the Petane block, near the Taupo road and the Esk River. Kate Bourke neighbours James Bell and land lots at the South West corner. Blocks are roughly 19 miles distant from Napier.
