About this object
View of Ahuriri and the Western Spit from Hospital Hill, thought to have been taken in February 1889. The road visible on the side of Napier Hill is possibly Goldsmith Terrace. The street is lined with domestic dwellings. The old bridge linking West Quay and the Western Spit (Westshore) is visible in the bay. A ship is visible in the harbour. Further unidentified ships are moored at the port. The Kaweka Ranges are visible in the distance.
