View of Ahuriri and the Western Spit from Napier Hill. The date 1879 has been scratched into the negative. The road in the foreground of the image is possibly Napier Terrace. The street visible on the side of the hill is possibly Goldsmith Terrace. The old bridge linking West Quay and the Western Spit (Westshore) is visible in the bay. Two ships are visible in the harbour. Further unidentified ships are moored at the port.
